With KLRT-TV, Channel 16, readying for the launch in about two months of a one-hour newscast starting at 9 p.m., plenty of staffing rumors have bounced around.

The latest rumors involving the Fox affiliate--owned by Clear Channel Communications--include Ron Sherman and Matt Mosler battling for the weathercasting gig and Julie Mayberry contending for a weekend anchor slot.

Mosler and Mayberry are former KATV-TV, Channel 7, "Daybreak" morning show hosts who in April helped launch the Spirit of Saline County, a twice-monthly, 7,000-circulation community newspaper, now shifting to a monthly magazine.
