LOS ANGELES _ This is purely speculation, but what if Brian Heidik's recent troubles with his wife were merely a ruse so that he could get a restraining order and make a case that he shouldn't have to give her half of his million dollar prize should he win "Survivor: Thailand" on Thursday night? "A
fter all," he could tell the divorce court judge, "the marriage was on the rocks before I ever found out."
Really, doesn't that just sound like the missing subplot from "Boogie Nights"? Not to mention, he didn't look like he had suffered any serious injuries recently on the live portion of the finale.
Then again, maybe wife Charmaine hits like a girl.
Either way, Heidik, the 34-year-old former porn actor and current used car salesman, became the fifth winner of CBS reality series, beating 46-year-old restaurant owner Clay Jordan by one hard-won vote.
The two-hour finale began with Brian, Clay, Helen and Jan chewing over Ted's recent eviction.
"The Final Four," Brian mused. "It sounds like a Basketball Tournament."
