General Motors Corp's Allison Gas Turbine Div has become a major competitor in the power plant market. Allison provides engines for three regional aircraft makers, one corporate jet maker and maintains a healthy share of the military applications market. Allison expects regional aircraft manufacturers to provide the majority of its business for the next decade. Rumours of the imminent sale of the company have not been confirmed, but a management buyout offer may be made.
