Abstract :

Fox Broadcasting Co is asking its affiliated television stations to add news programs to their broadcasting schedules. The goal of the network is to supply affiliated stations with sports programming and prime time broadcasting and allow the stations to provide local news coverage. A Fox source indicated that the company has no current plans to add a network news broadcasting operation. An industry source said that adding a news operation can cost an affiliated station a minimum of $1 million for the first year.
