Abstract :
Two songwriting duos, one country singer and lyricist and one soundtrack musician were given top honors by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers during its 11th annual Pop Awards Dinner held on May 7, 1994 in Los Angeles, CA. The team of Elton John and Bernie Taupin was named songwriter of the year for having composed the biggest number of award-winning songs during the period covering Oct. 1992-Sep. 1993. The other team, Don Henley and Glenn Frey, was given the Founders Award for having helped the Eagles in both their group and solo careers.
