MacWorld - Prodigy Launches MacHome Journal, Updated GUI 08/08/94 BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A., 1994 AUG 8 (NB) - Prodigy has announced the immediate availability of a new Mac-based user interface, along with the start-up of a live "Chat" service for Mac users and an online magazine called MacHome Journal.
At MacWorld, where the three announcements were made, Newsbytes learned that Prodigy is also set to roll out an online edition of the Tampa Bay Tribune, the second in a series of "electronic newspapers" that was kicked off last spring with "Access Atlanta."
In a meeting with Newsbytes at the Prodigy booth, Robert Brooks, advisory programmer, said that Prodigy marked the Mac-oriented introductions by distributing 20,000 special "MacWorld Show" issues of MacHome Journal at the expo. Each issue incorporates the new Macintosh software.
