Telecommunications and high-tech companies in British Columbia are looking to pick up new work in the wake of yesterday's announced breakup of B.C. Systems Corp., which has monopolized computer services and some telephone services to the provincial government for 18 years.
Specific opportunities for private companies are expected to include the development and operation of extensive data and phone networks within the province, and development of software for various ministries.
