Abstract :

The increasing number of regional airlines worldwide has created a demand for aircraft with larger sizes and higher speeds. Engine manufacturers such as Allison, GE and Lycoming are prepared to meet this demand with their own versions of turboprop engines for 60-80 seater aircraft. Allison's AE2100 is being used for the Saab 2000 plane, while GE and Lycoming are jointly developing a more efficient combustor for the LP512.
