The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Broadcast Music Inc. and the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers named the winners of the top awards in the country music industry during their respective awards ceremonies. Gary Burr, Vince Gill and Frank Dycus took home the top trophies by winning the songwriter of the year award of the three organizations, respectively.
