Abstract :
Journalists covering the war in Bosnia often struggle to balance the professional need for objectivity with the emotional reactions to the horrors they witness. CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour believes neutral reporting does not adequately convey the realities of the war or inspire people to intervene. She caused some controversy when she confronted President Clinton on his Bosnia policies. Journalists such as New York Times reporter David Binder oppose advocacy for any side in war correspondence and believe it is a reporter's professional duty to remain objective.
