Abstract :

The popularity of toy trains peaked in the 1940s and 1950s. Interest in these treasures later declined with the modernization of automobile and airplane travel and the advent of the spage age. Toy trains are gaining popularity once again in the 1990s, due in part to their ability to evoke youthful memories in collectors.
