Greater New Orleans offers television broadcasters much opportunity. The area ranks first in the nation in television viewing. Cable television penetration at 72% helps this ranking. The New Orleans audience is hard for television programmers to figure out in terms of viewer preferences. They differ from what the rest of the nation likes to watch.
