Caso clinico de agresividad redirigida felina.

Se describe el caso de un gato macho castrado de raza común europeo de tres años de edad y de 3,5kg de peso. Se presenta a la consulta de comportamiento debido a los episodios agresivos que ha manifestado. Se le diagnostica agresividad redirigida, y para la cual se estableció un tratamiento basado en modificación de conducta y del entorno mediante enriquecimiento ambiental y alimenticio, así como el uso de Feliway[R] como estabilizador del ambiente y como tratamiento farmacológico diazepam (Valium[R]) gotas, por vía oral en dosis de 0,2mg/kg al día por las mañanas, durante cuatro semanas; y fluoxetina vía oral en dosis de 1mg/kg al día, también por las mañanas; con la finalidad de reducir su estado de ansiedad, así como las manifestaciones de la conducta agresiva. A las 16 semanas de iniciado el tratamiento se decidió dar de alta al paciente. Palabras clave: Agresividad redirigida; Feliway[R]; diazepam; modificación de conducta. We report a case of a common European male cat of three years old and 3,5kg of weight. The reason of the consultation was because it was presenting aggressive episodes. The physical examination was normal. It was diagnosed as a problem of redirected aggression. The treatment consisted on a program of behavior modification, environmental and food enrichment, as well as the use of Feliway[R] as stabilizer the environment and a pharmacological treatment whit diazepam (Valium[R]) drops orally at doses of 0,2mg/kg per day in the morning for four weeks and fluoxetine oral dose of 1mg/kg per day, also in the morning in order to reduce its state of anxiety as well as demonstrations of aggressive behavior.
