Oct. 05--Pete Astudillo is not one who needs to look up at the moon and dream. All he needs are "Fotos y Recuerdos" to take him back to the time he was one of the original Dinos who performed with the late Tejano music icon Selena Quintanilla Perez. As one of the leaders of the Tejano music scene, Astudillo stays humble and is grateful for the life he has lived. "I am the luckiest man in the world," the 52-year-old singer-songwriter said. "I got to work with the real Selena, called her my friend and experienced her rise to stardom. Then I got to relive that with J.Lo." Quintanilla Productions will present a tribute to the music of the late Tejano music icon featuring Pete Astudillo and Isabel Marie Sanchez on Friday at the Bootfest main stage. "The performance will be a ride down memory lane for me," said Astudillo, who also portrayed himself in Selena's 1997 biopic starring the "Jenny From the Block" singer and actress Jennifer Lopez. Before he went on to co-write hits like "Baila Esta Cumbia," "Como La Flor" and "Amor Prohibido" with AB Quintanilla and Selena, Astudillo started in the music scene at the age of 20.
