Abstract :

The software originally shipped with Hewlett-Packard's ScanJet scanner, a device released in Jul 1987 that retails for $1,495, did not work. Consequently, Hewlett-Packard shipped an interim version of the software, known as Scanning Gallery, which had limited functionality. Hewlett-Packard will begin shipping a final release of the Scanning Gallery software, in Sep 1987, that will allow users of the scanning device to: edit images, format images in other than the default standard, and copy, paste, crop, view, and zoom scanned images. Janus Assoc (Boston, MA) is currently marketing a software package that works with the Hewlett-Packard ScanJet. The Janus software retails for $149 and is known as SuperScan.
