Islands of Adventure, the newest theme park in Central Florida opening this weekend, raises the bar in the attraction industry and the competition for coveted gate revenue, industry experts say.
After a media preview at Islands of Adventure, Paul Ruben called the attraction the most beautifully themed he'd ever seen and its roller coasters some of the most thrilling he'd ever ridden. Ruben has been on 513 different coasters in the past 57 years, he said.
"I'm sure Orlando is going to become an even more popular vacation destination than it is today," said Ruben, North American editor for Park World, an international trade publication for the outdoor amusement industry.
