Mattel Interactive, a leading publisher and developer of home entertainment software, today announced its 2000 line up at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. By leveraging strong properties and partnerships, the company is expanding its roster of interactive entertainment and is spotlighting a broad range of hybrid toys and new titles that span all major gaming platforms, ages and genders. More than 80 titles and products will be exhibited at the show and will include the latest offerings of its major brands, licenses and original properties: Myst(R) III: Exile(TM), Billabong(R) Pro Surfer(a) and Prince of Persia(R) for older gaming enthusiasts; Hot Wheels(R), Tyco(R) and Matchbox(R) titles for boys and men; Intel(R) Play(TM) products for teens and tweens; BARBIE(R) for girls; Cosmopolitan(TM) for women; Arthur(R), Pokemon(TM), Scooby-Doo!(TM) and Nickelodeon(TM) titles for younger players.

Eternal Blade(TM)(a)
Set in an original fantasy world, Eternal Blade will be among the first completely original role-playing games (RPG) for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. The product will be created from the ground up to be a console-style RPG with high action, the ability to control up to four characters in combat and an easy-to-use, intuitive interface. The characters in Eternal Blade will also possess unlimited character growth and flexible development; fighters will be able to develop spellcasting abilities and rogues and thieves will be able to improve their fighting skills and use of various types of weapons. A dynamic and interactive camera will enable players to see the action from multiple perspectives and never miss a moment of their adventure.
Eternal Blade for PlayStation 2 is scheduled for release in Q3 2001.
Tyco(R) R/C for X-Box
The first TYCO R/C title for the Microsoft(R) X-Box computer entertainment system puts one to four players behind the wheel of remote control vehicles based on popular TYCO R/C cars -- Super Rebound(R), Tantrum(R), Psycho(TM) and Hot Rocker(TM) -- and allows players to race individually against the AI or head-to-head via split screen. Drivers will race through a variety of arcade-like environments including construction sites, elaborate gardens, parks and wooded areas.
In addition to the standard single race mode, players can also compete in one of four distinct Battle Arenas or one of six unique Racing Tournament levels. Battle arenas will have up to three weather variations with multiple terrain types like ice, mud, water and snow that can affect each car's handling and performance. Each TYCO R/C car will...
