Sometimes we don't need to do anything to make it into the books. Here are some record-breaking humans, most of them as nature intended.
Larger than life The heaviest woman ever: 85st Rosalie Bradford is thought to have been the heaviest woman ever, reaching a peak of 85st in January 1987. Later that year she developed congestive heart failure and was rushed to hospital. She was consequently put on a carefully controlled diet and by February 1994 her weight dropped to 20st 3lb. American Rosie had hoped to reach her target weight of 10st but sadly passed away in December 2006.
Man mountainThe heaviest man ever: 100st It took a dozen firemen to get Jon Brower Minnoch from his home to hospital in Seattle, US, in March 1978. He was 36 and suffering cardiac and respiratory failure.
Jon's weight of 100st, or 635kg, was mostly water accumulation due to congestive heart problems. After two years on a diet of 1,200 calories per day he was discharged weighing 34st. In October 1981 he was re-admitted at 68st and died in September 1983 weighing 57st.
Annie Hawkins-Turner's chest is so large that no bra exists that will fit her. She wears a 52L but her measurements of 43in under the breasts and 70in over the breast actually require a 48V.
