Abstract :

Signetics and Philips have developed an integrated 68070 microprocessor in a joint venture. The 68070 has a 68000 core, a memory management unit, a two-channel DMA controller, a serial communications bus, an RS-232-C interface, and three counters-timers on a single chip. It is software compatible with the 68000 family. The 68070 is ideal for applications that do not require the performance needed for CAE-CAD, but require high performance at a low price. A diagram of the 68070 is included.
