It's the awards show that first recognized Selena and Emilio as superstars, but this year, fans and industry watchers are hoping the Tejano Music Awards can find some new performers to take the reins and guide the popular music into the future.
Organizers say they expect the awards Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio to draw 45,000 fans and receive international media coverage.
Selena's death two years ago and Emilio's waning crossover success as a Nashville-style country performer has left the Tejano market without its banner artists.
