Despite fears of a slowing economy after the election, station managers say business in Lansing, Mich., has been stable, fueled by traditional ad categories.
``I think things still are holding up pretty good,'' said Jim Wareham, general manager at ABC affiliate WLAJ-TV. ``Even though the country has seen some slowdown, we haven't seen that yet, and our local business is doing very well. ``Our major category is auto-we've gotten some major auto deals for first quarter, and the same thing with some of the fast foods.''
According to BIA Financial Network, Lansing TV revenues were $36.1 million in 1999 and are expected to be $38.6 million in 2000.
