Sir "W. Walrond was yesterday nominated for re-election on his appointment as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. There being no opposition he was declared elected. Tho only contested elections have resulted as follows:—

Sir W. H. Wal rend was returned unopposed at the general elections of 1886, 1895, and 1900, and at byelections in August, 1886, and July, 1895.

Sir W. Walrond addressed a number of his supporters at Tiverton last night. Ho said that he felt very proud of having been returned for the constituency again. He appreciated the courtesy of Mr. Reed in not opposing his election on that occasion, but it was the duty of the Conservative party to improve their organization, so that they may be prepared for a contest when one came. It is announced that, in consequence of the decision of the Liberal leaders not to contest the seat, some gentlemen officially .connected with the party have resigned their offices.
