Bitter life story of man who murderecd twice

Police launched a nationuide search yesterday for a light blue Ford Escort, which they believe the escaped Broadmoor killer Alan Reeve, and his fiancee, Patricia Ford, are using.

Mr Reeve who escaped on Sunday was due to be transferred to another special hospital, Park Lane, in Lancashire.

Since Miss Ford, aged 30, met Mr Reeve about three months ago, she has been visiting him and writing to him regularly. She saw him last Saturday and was due to go on holiday to Spain to visit her parents.

Roadblocks around the Berkshire 'hospital were lifted yesterday because detectives are certain that Mr Reeve,'aged 33, is well clear of the area. Police asked hotel and boarding house owners to, keep a watch-for the couple. The car, a 1300cc model, registration number JOX 569W, was rented in Read. ing on Saturday and should' have been returned yesterday.

Miss Ford has short. reddishbroWn hair, is Sft 4in tall, stocky, and normally scruffily dressed. Mr Reeve had long, fair hair when he escaped, is 6ft lin tall and slim.

Dr. Edgar Udwin,' acting medical superintendent at Br4oadmoor,appealed yesterday to Mr Reeve to give himself up.

Alan Reeve gave me vivid details of his unhappy childhood, the two murders he was convicted of and his stormy life in Broadmoor when I visited him in April, last year.
