DEATH OF A PROMINENT MAO
Sir Edward Lctehworth, who recently resigned the
post of Grand Secretary of the United Grand Lodge of English Freemasons—a post he had held fop over a quarter of a century—died yesterday morning at his London residence, CornwaH-gardens, in his goth year.
Sir Edward Letohwort^ was initiated in the Jeru-
salem Ixulge—one of the lodges possessing the privilege ok nominating the Grand Stewards—iii 1878, but Within 18 months of his initiation ho occulted the position of Master of the St. James’s Lodge, Edmonton, by virtue ot his having been one cl-tee lounders of the lodge and its first Senior Warden. In
1881 he was one ot the Grand Stewards of the year j and President ok tho Board ot Stewards. In 1877 whs appointed Provincial Grand Registry of Middlesex, and. in 1884 Junior Grand DftAcon of the
United Grand Lodge ok England. As Steward of
the Manors to the late Queen Victoria...
