Sir Henry Beresford-Peirse, the fifth baronet, CB, Director-General of the Forestry Commission from 1962 to 1968, died on Friday at the age of 67. He was deputy chairman of the Forestry Commission from 1965 to 1968. From 1960 to 1962 Beresford-Peirse was seconded as Deputy Director of Forestry Division of the Food and Agriculture Division of the United Nations, Rome.
He was educated at Eton and Magdalen College, Oxford. In 1963 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Roval Forestry Society. He married in 1932 Margaret daughter of F. M. S. Grant; he succeeded his father in 1949 and the heir to the baronetcy is his son Henry Grant de la Poer Beresford-Peirse.
