FORESTRY APPOINTMENTS
The Forestry Commissioners yesterday announced that Mr. Henry C. Beresford-Peirse is to become Director of Forestry for Scotland in place of Mr. A. H. Gosling, who is shortly to be promoted to the post of Deputy DirectorGeneral of the Forestry Commission. Mr. Frank Oliver, at present in charge of the South Conservancy (Dumfries), will be transferred as conservator in charge of the East Conservancy (Aberdeen). His place at Dumfries will be taken by Mr. J. R. Thom, Divisional Officer. Mr. E. S. J. Hinds will become chief clerk in the office of the Director of Forestry for England in place of Mr. F. W. Hamilton, whose forthcoming appointment as secretary to the commission was recently announced.
