Ri tootball club chairman appeared in court yesterday on a £287,000 fraud conspiracy charge.
Keith Cheeseman, aged 33, chairmaan of Dunstable Town, tlhe Southern League club, arrived at Lutoni, police station in a chauffeur driven silver Rolls-Royce. Five hours later he appeared in court charged wvith conspiracy to defraud the Beneficial Finaince andl Loan Company of £287,000. He
wvas remanded on bail of £20,000.
Three other men have already appeared in court on identical charges, including the former manager of the finance company's Luton office. All' four men ivill appear together on September 9.
Mr Cheeseman. wvho lives at The Gables, Houghton Regis, persuaded George Best to come oat of retirement to play for Dunstable Town.
