IT HAS been denounced as unhealthy and emanates from the kitchens of a celebrity chef (Joanna Bale writes). The Snickers pie, devised by Antony Worrall Thompson, contains 1,250 calories a slice — three times as many as a deep-fried Mars bar. The pudding combines five Snickers bars with mascarpone, eggs, sugar, soft cheese and puff pastry. Each serving has the equivalent of 22 teaspoons of fat and 11 of sugar. An article in Food Magazine, which is published by the Food Commission, says: "We love a decent dessert as much as anyone, but surely this has to be one of the most unhealthy recipes ever published!" The recipe was included in the chefs Saturday Kitchen show
