Zainab Salbi is a talk show host, a writer, and an activist. She was born in Baghdad, Iraq, under the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. Her family was close to the royal family, and she commonly spent time with the dictator. Salbi's mother arranged for her to move to America in an attempt to distance Salbi from Hussein. Salbi recorded her dual experiences with the dictator in her book Between Two Worlds: Escape From Tyranny: Growing Up in the Shadow of Saddam (2005).
