Zainab Salbi is a talk show host, a writer, and an activist. She was born in Baghdad, Iraq, under the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. Her family was close to the royal family, and she commonly spent time with the dictator. Salbi's mother arranged for her to move to America in an attempt to distance Salbi from Hussein. Salbi recorded her dual experiences with the dictator in her book Between Two Worlds: Escape From Tyranny: Growing Up in the Shadow of Saddam (2005).

Salbi is also known for founding the humanitarian organization Women for Women International. The organization brings aid to women suffering from unjust detainment, war crimes, or other forms of oppression. It has helped hundreds of thousands...
