Lathallan School, Johnshaven, welcomed hundreds to people to its fifth Rugby 7s event and a thrilling day of competitive rugby was enjoyed by all who attended.

Parents and friends of the players travelled from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Tayside and Perth to spend the day cheering on the teams and enjoying the hospitality.

Sponsored by Savills and Aberdeen Asset Management in association with The Bill McLaren Foundation, Hearts and Balls and The Lathallan Foundation for bursaries, a free family fun day with BBQ, beer tent, bouncy castle, face painting and family entertainment was enjoyed by all.

There was success for the host's under 16's side who finished off the day as winners of The Bain Family Trophy, beating Westhill in the final.

There was also individual success for Lathallan's Michael Jamieson who took player of the tournament in the under 16s division.

The home teams S1/S2 side finished runners up in The Howie Family Trophy to Madras as the Fifers beat Lathallan in the final.

Meanwhile, in the P6/7's Rathbone's Investment Management Trophy, Mackie finished in Third place behind runners-up Strathmore and winners Robert Gordons College.

Andrea Watt, Head of Development and Alumni Relations at Lathallan School, said she was delighted with the success of the day.

"It was a fantastic, well attended event and all the teams showed great competitive spirit and fair play.

"We're delighted with the success of our fifth tournament and look forward to welcoming all the teams back next year."
