NEW YORK, NY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 23, 1997--

Pact Includes All Rights to `Millennium Four: The Right,'

a Sequel and Three Future Titles

Continuing to align itself with some of the world's most talented interactive software developers, GT Interactive Software Corp. (NASDAQ: GTIS) has entered into a publishing agreement with 5D Games, Inc., whereby GT Interactive obtains all interactive media, merchandising, and publishing rights to 5D Games' new, networkable 3D space combat simulation, Millennium Four: The Right, on a worldwide basis.

Under the agreement, GT Interactive obtains exclusive global rights to publish Millennium Four: The Right and a sequel for both PC and console platforms, as well as the rights to three future titles from 5D Games.

"We are excited to be working with 5D Games, a highly regarded creative and talented developer whose principals have a strong track record in game development," said Ron Chaimowitz, president and chief executive officer of GT Interactive. "Our two companies' philosophies are well-suited as we both strive to bring consumers the most technologically innovative and entertaining software in the category."

"There is no doubting the publishing and distribution strength of GT Interactive," said Todd Farrington, president of 5D Games. "The combination of our development expertise and GT Interactive's publishing savvy will benefit both companies."

A first-person perspective, 3D space combat/strategy game utilizing 5D Games' proprietary 3D graphics engine, Millennium Four: The Right allows players to command powerful starships through 60 complete star systems. Featuring incredibly detailed graphics, Millennium Four: The Right allows players greater latitude of movement since the game is not a pre-scripted universe, and every event and consequence is up to the player.

Developed by 5D Games, whose founders have designed top-selling simulations including the award-winning simulation, IndyCar Racing II, Millennium Four: The Right offers full multiplayer support using a unique "serverless" design. This allows up to 32 players to compete even after the player who started the game leaves. Players can compete in either single or multi-system deathmatches, with an option to add adversaries with advanced Artificial Intelligence.
