Abstract :

The latest trend in multifamily models and clubhouses are designs that evoke a homey feel to the property and impart pride of place and a sense of community. Marketing experts agree that the best way to achieve a home-like, earthy feel rests on the choice of the right colors. In particular, relaxing, soothing earth tones and natural hues are in vogue for multifamily models in 1996. Aside from the color, accoutrements such as island kitchens, upgraded materials, ceramic tile kitchen floors, crown molding, ceramic tile bar tops, recessed lighting and larger bathrooms and closets all provide houses a home-like feel. Designers should taken note of the varying design requirements of the retired couples and young professionals, which are the two most lucrative segments of the market at present. Young professionals can accept a little degree of innovation but not the elderly.
