Abstract :

Researchers from the Agricultural Research Service were able to determine the amount of water needed by carrot plants to produce optimal yields of clean, live seed. Data were gathered from three-year experiments with around 2,000 seed carrot plants grown in a research field near a Fresno, CA, laboratory. The results prompted major seed companies to reevaluate their watering practices.
