Abstract :

Kaiser Permanente of Southern California has implemented electronic data interchange (EDI) in its accounts payable department to improve efficiency while reducing operating costs. The company has developed a four-step EDI plan which includes the implementation of the X12 832 transaction standard, the use of procurement cards and the integration of suppliers' X12 810 standard into the department's electronic invoice system.
