This supplement to Journal of Drugs in Dermatology is worthy of mention because it summarises the proceedings of a workshop describing how the field of skin care is being driven forward by improvements in gene technology. This is leading to new insights into our fundamental understanding of the ageing process of skin. However, both the supplement and workshop were sponsored by Proctor & Gamble and contain only genomic data generated and/or sponsored by P&G. Nevertheless, this is a very exciting and rapidly advancing area of research, which is impacting on both the understanding of skin, and product development in the personal care industry and this supplement is a good, informative aid to anyone working in this field as it collects much of the available data to date into one 18-page document, or...
