European Commission, Directorate-General for Environment has awarded a contract for Identification, Assessment, Sharing and Dissemination of Best Practices for the Humane Management of Invasive Alien Species at Belgium-Brussels.

The contract was awarded to UICN, Bureau de reprsentation auprs de l'Union europenne at a contract value of 0.5 Million EUR.

The contract was awarded on 7th Oct 2019.

The contract is financed by European Union funds.

The contractor will support the management of invasive alien vertebrate species of Union concern, through lethal or non-lethal measures, by

1) Developing manuals on invasive alien vertebrate species management, through workshops with the competent authorities of the Member States, stakeholders and practitioners in the field; and

2) Organising dissemination campaigns and raise awareness and involvement in invasive alien vertebrate species management, in cooperation with the competent authorities, stakeholders and practitioners in the field. There will be a competition for best practices and a final conference at the EU level.
