Abstract :

The classical connection between theories of carnival and carnivalesque art in the late 19th and 20th century and the intoxication inherent to the facts of social life are discussed. Analysis of the theorized works of Mikhail Bakhtin and others is presented focusing on carnivals as a site of creativity where impulsive mood alteration occur. The connectivity emerges in existing metaphoric support reconstructed in the self-reflexive testimony of carnivalesque literature.
