Abstract :

The production of gas-phase singly charged ruthenium chloride anionic complexes by laser desorption ionization of Ru[Cl.sub.3] x 3[H.sub.2]O is reported. The [[[Ru.sub.x][Cl.sub.y]].sup.-] clusters could only be detected in the absence of the matrix component in the negative mode. The cluster compositions observed were [[Ru[Cl.sub.4]].sup.-], [[Ru[Cl.sub.5]].sup.-], [[[Ru.sub.2][Cl.sub.6]].sup.-], [[[Ru.sub.2][Cl.sub.7]].sup.-], [[[Ru.sub.3][Cl.sub.9]].sup.-], [[[Ru.sub.4][Cl.sub.11]].sup.-], and [[[Ru.sub.5][Cl.sub.12]].sup.-]. With the aid of density functional theory calculations, we proposed feasible structures for each ruthenium chloride cluster, in which Ru-Ru bonds and Cl bridges were a common characteristic. Faisant appel a la technique d'ionisation par desorption au laser du Ru[Cl.sub.3] x 3[H.sub.2]O, on a realise la production en phase gazeuse de complexes anioniques du chlorure de ruthenium portant une seule charge. Dans le mode negatif, on ne peut detecter la presence des agregats de [[[Ru.sub.x][Cl.sub.y]].sup.-] qu'en l'absence de la composante matricielle. On a pu observer les cations de composition [[Ru[Cl.sub.4]].sup.-], [[Ru[Cl.sub.5]].sup.-], [[[Ru.sub.2][C.sub.l6]].sup.-], [[[Ru.sub.2][Cl.sub.7]].sup.-], [[[Ru.sub.3][Cl.sub.9]].sup.-], [[[Ru.sub.4][Cl.sub.11]].sup.-] et [[[Ru.sub.5][Cl.sub.12]].sup.-]. En se basant sur des calculs selon la theeorie de la fonctionnelle de la densite, on propose des structures plausibles pour chacun des agregats de chlorure de ruthenium dans lesquels des liaisons Ru-Ru et des ponts Cl sont des caracteristiques communes.
