Abstract :

A study was conducted to characterize the synthesis of borophosphosilicate glasses and glass ceramics using altered sol-gel based techniques. Boron oxide and phosphorus pentoxide were utilized as starting precursors. Heat treatments were carried out in air at 450, 600 and 800 degrees C. Experimental results indicated that several differences between the modified oxide sol-gel and modified oxide sol-precipitation processes.
