Abstract :

A study was conducted to test the ability of a time and polarization resolved ultrasonic method to determine wave velocity measurements in solid samples. Additional data points were utilized to determine slopes associated with velocity measurements. Results indicated that expanded uncertainties associated with leaky surface velocities was less than 0.7% and enabled an association of measured velocities with specific sample heat treatments.
