Abstract :

The influence of monetary objects on object-based attention is examined by presenting either two 1-yuan notes or two 100-yuan notes to participants. Findings show that object-based effect is greater when the cue appeared on the 100-yuan note than on the 1-yuan note. Results also suggest that object-based attention can be affected by the rewarding property of objects by means of altering object salience.
