Abstract :
The Columbia University Graduate School of Business and the Korn/Ferry executive search firm have issued a report on the ideal characteristics of chief executive officers (CEOs) based on a survey of 1,500 business people from 20 nations. Research results reveal that respondents believe the best CEOs excel in the areas of: strategy formulation; human resource management; marketing and sales; and conflict resolution. Respondents believe that the people who will be the CEOs of the future are currently excelling in one of three areas: corporate turnarounds; mergers and acquisitions; and foreign operations.
