Abstract :

A team briefing, the communication of information through the management hierarchy, should be used to regularly provide employees with information about issues affecting the organization. Team briefings have four requirements: a team of eight to 15 people and a leader, a regular meeting schedule, a short newsletter containing both good and bad information, and a method of providing feedback. Preparing an organization for its first team briefing involves arranging meeting dates for the first six months, selecting teams, familiarizing employees with the team briefing process, training the team leaders, and identifying the topics to be discussed in the meeting and the newsletter.
