Abstract :

Israeli scientists are studying the possibility of using limpets (Patella caerulea) to remove barnacles from the hulls of ships. Limpets could be an environmentally sound alternative to tributyl tin, a toxin in ship hull paint which also causes abnormalities in some mollusks.
