Abstract :

The current study aimed to determine the antidiabetic and antidyslipidemic activities of moronic acid methyl ester (1) (compound 1) by in vivo, in vitro, in silico, and molecular biology studies. Compound 1 was evaluated to establish its dose-dependent antidiabetic and antihyperglycemic (50 mg/kg) activities, in diabetic and normoglycemic male CD1 mice, respectively. Also, compound 1 was subjected to a subacute study (50 mg/kg per day for 8 days) to determine blood biochemical profiles and the expression of protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP-1B), glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor [alpha] (PPAR-[alpha]), PPAR-[gamma], adiponectin, interleukin-1[beta] (IL- 1[beta]), and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1) in adipose tissue of animals after treatment. La presente etude visait a etablir les activites antidiabetiques et antidyslipidemiques de l'ester methylique d'acide moronique (1) a l'aide d'etudes in vivo, in vitro, in silico et de biologie moleculaire. Nous avons evalue le compose 1 en vue d'etablir ses activites antidiabetiques et antihyperlipidemiques proportionnelles a la dose (50 mg/kg) chez des souris CD1 mYles diabetiques et normoglycemiques, respectivement. De plus, nous avons procede a une etude visant a etablir les profils biochimiques sanguins et l'expression de PTP-1B, de GLUT4, du PPAR-[alpha], du PPAR-[gamma], de l'adiponectine, de l'IL-1[beta] et de MCP-1 dans le tissu adipeux des animaux apres l'administration subaigue du compose 1 (50 mg/kg/jour pendant huit jours).
