Abstract :

Consumer on-line services reported a profitable year in 1995. Fierce competition between the "Big Three" services, America Online (AOL), Prodigy and CompuServe, increased users and revenues. Software and connectivity advances also marked 1995 as a successful year. CompuServe increased its market share with the addition of Publications Online; Prodigy debuted two online research services, D&B Solutions and Homework Helper, and AOL added Business Week, Investor's Business Daily and Entertainment Weekly. Delphi is expected to recover from an initial slow start by joining forces with MCI.
