In mid-Novemer, LSMS leaders spent the day meeting with members or the Louisiana congressional delegation, as well as members of the US House Ways and Means Committee and the US House Energy and Commerce Committee, to discuss possible solutions to the lingering legislative nightmare that is the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula. The trip is part of ongoing efforts by the Coalition of State Medical Societies, representing nearly 160,000 members from Louisiana, Texas, Florida, New York, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona, and California, to bring the concerns of local physicians directly to Washington.
