Abstract :

The preparation of fast oxide ion conducting [Ce.sub.1-x][M.sub.x][O.sub.2-[delta] (M = ln, Sm; x = 0.1, 0.2) and [Ce.sub.0.8][Sm.sub.0.05][Ca.sub.0.15][O.sub.1.825] is reported. The oxides were obtained from the corresponding perovskite-like structured materials with nominal chemical composition of Ba[Ce.sub.1-x][M.sub.x][O.sub.3-[delta] and Ba[Ce.sub.0.8][Sm.sub.0.05][Ca.sub.0.15][O.sub.2.825], respectively, by reacting with C[O.sub.2].
