Abstract :

The association of changes in alcohol use patterns during the COVID-19 pandemic to increases in alcohol-related diseases is explored. More than a dozen studies revealed that 20% to 40% of individuals surveyed reported consuming more alcohol than usual and most of them are drinking to cope with the stress of the pandemic. Insights into alcohol use disorder screening are also given.
