Abstract :

Results of a study to evaluate what interventions are effective in promoting cycling as well as associated benefits in terms of physical activity have revealed that factors such as community-wide promotional activities, marketing of cycling as an environmental friendly mode of transport and improving the infrastructure for cycling will help promote the same.; however its impact on increased physical activity remain unknown. The need for further evidence on the impact of such interventions on the level of cycling and physical activity is highlighted.
